Collaboration and Partners
Join us in advancing children’s development through playgrounds
At the World Playground Research Institute we are dedicated to enhancing children’s health and development through better and more playgrounds. At the heart of our mission is the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to play on playgrounds that not only provide fun but also stimulate their growth and well-being.
We believe in making research results available, ensuring that the insights gained from research on playgrounds are accessible for a wide audience, whether you are a researcher, decision maker, designer, architect, teacher, educator or parent.

Our Funding
The World Playground Research Institute is hosted at the Department of Sport Sciences and Clinical Biomechanics at the University of Southern Denmark. The center is based on a collaboration between the university and KOMPAN, a leading global playground manufacturer with its headquarters in Denmark.
Together, they share the ambition to ensure that more children around the world have access to playgrounds that stimulate children’s health and development.
