Introduction
We are thrilled to announce our participation in the Active Living Conference 2024, set to take place in Chattanooga, Tennessee, from March 25-28, 2024. Representatives from World Playground Research Institute, Jasper Schipperijn and Louise Stjerne Madsen, will be attending alongside researchers and practitioners to engage in discussions aimed at promoting opportunities for individuals of all ages and abilities to lead active lives.
The Value of Play
The overarching theme of the 2024 Active Living Conference is “Play every Day – it’s the Multigenerational Healthy Way!” This theme emphasizes the intrinsic value of play in promoting overall health and well-being and underscores its role as a cornerstone of active living. From integrating movement into daily routines to promoting active travel, recreation, and inclusivity, the conference will explore various avenues and actions to facilitate daily play.
Committed to Share and Discuss Knowledge
At the conference, we will dive into some of our schoolyard research. In his talk, Jasper will address how we can design active schoolyards for 9-12-year-olds, who actually say they don’t play anymore!
At the heart of our participation at ALC 2024 lies a commitment to share and discuss knowledge and best practices to advance active living initiatives – with a particular interest in and emphasis on playgrounds.
We look forward to the exchange of ideas, building meaningful connections, and driving positive change! Stay tuned on our LinkedIn profile where we will share insights from the conference.
