We are excited to start 2025 off with great news: Jasper Schipperijn, Head of Centre, will be speaking at TEDxOdense on January 31st 2025 in Odense, Denmark.

About his TEDx Talk

The theme of this TEDx is The Time is Now, a reminder that today’s choices shape tomorrow’s world.

Yet, as we look around, something essential to childhood – outdoor play – has quietly disappeared. Research reveals a drastic decline in outdoor play over the past two decades, raising urgent questions about its impact on children’s health and well-being.

In his talk Why Don’t Children Play Outside Anymore?, Jasper will explore some of the main reasons behind this decline, challenging the common assumption that kids can simply “just go out and play”.

He will highlight the loss of good outdoor play spaces in modern society and inspire us to collaborate in reimagining and creating environments that allow children to play, explore, and thrive.
